The cousins are super prepared, having done a lot of sleuthing before leaving home. Laura was able to locate the place where Nana probably lived; it is now a parking lot

across the street from historic St. Paul's Church. The great Baltimore Fire of 1904 destroyed most of central Baltimore, so little of what we saw pre-dated 1904.
We met Anne Gass for lunch at a touristy part of the Inner Harbour; we sat outside in the breezy sunshine and, with the cooperation of a very accommodating server, Laura and Sara engineered a yummy vegan lunch.
We heard a bit from Anne about her cross country trip retracing the route of the 1915 Suffragettes. Mostly questions from us, as we had read her blog, so knew the basics. She is the descendant of a Maine Suffragette, and got intrigued reading about the harrowing travels of Sara Bard Field, Maria (the driver), and Ingeborg (the mechanic).
After lunch, we proceeded to the Baltimore League of Women Voters, and sat in on a brief presentation by Anne. It's fun to be in the company of so many women who are totally committed to gaining and/or restoring women's rights.
The drive to Washington DC was about an hour plus, so it was dark by the time we got to our AirB&B on Fourth Street SE. We pulled out our maps, and discovered that Sara had (again) hit the jackpot with accommodations - we are walking distance from everyplace we plan to go! Lucky us!
